The Mastermind Power And Perks

Before we delve into the best builds for Albert Wesker, let's look at this killer's power and teachable perks, so you know what you're working with. First, here are The Mastermind's three teachable perks:

Perk: Terminus

  • Powering the exit gates triggers Terminus. While it is active, injured, downed, and hooked survivors receive the Broken status effect until the exit gates are open. After the gates open, survivors will stay broken for another 20/25/30 seconds.

Perk: Superior Anatomy

  • Whenever a survivor performs a fast vault within eight meters of you, this perk activates. Superior Anatomy boosts your vault speed by 30/35/40 percent the next time you vault a window, which will deactivate its effect. Superior Anatomy has a 30-second cooldown.

Perk: Awakened Awareness

  • When carrying a survivor, the auras of other survivors within 16/18/20 meters of your position are visible. This effect lingers for two seconds after you stop carrying a survivor.

Power: Virulent Bound

The Mastermind's power is called "Virulent Bound." The in-game description reads as follows:

  • “The Mastermind can barrel forwards, infecting Survivors with the Uroboros Virus or leaping over obstacles.”

Wesker Special Attack – Bound Attack

  • Press and hold the Power button to charge a Bound Attack. While charging, The Mastermind moves slightly slower, as he prepares his strike. When charged, press the Attack button to Bound.
  • Hitting a Survivor with a Bound Attack afflicts them with Infection.
  • Hitting a Survivor already afflicted with Infection with a Bound Attack will increase their Infection.
  • Crashing into something during a Bound Attack will slam a nearby Survivor, causing damage; if not, the Survivor is thrown and loses a Health State if they are thrown into any solid object.

Wesker Special Ability – Bound Vault

  • If The Mastermind hits a dropped Pallet or a Window while using Virulent Bound, he vaults over the obstacle.

Wesker Special Affliction – Uroboros Infection

  • The Uroboros Infection builds over time.
  • Upon reaching Critical Infection, the Survivor suffers from the Hindered Status Effect, reducing their Movement speed by -8 %.
  • If The Mastermind grabs and slams a Critically Infected Survivor while using Virulent Bound, he will automatically begin to carry them.

Best Wesker Builds In Dead By Daylight

With his Virulent Bound power, Wesker can cover lots of distance at once and subsequently deal damage to survivors, throwing them across the map and even into one another.

The best Wesker builds make use of his mobility and strength in chase, while giving him more stopping power when it comes to generators.

Beginner Wesker Build

If you are just getting started as a new Wesker main, it might be hard to decide which perks to use. Using this loadout on The Mastermind as a beginner will help you down survivors and find your footing. All of the perks in this loadout are general perks, meaning they can be found in the Bloodweb of any killer.

  • Jolt
  • Bitter Murmur
  • Whispers
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death

Jolt helps you damage generators throughout the match, stacking up pressure as you earn downs. Bitter Murmur and Whispers both help you track survivors, ensuring you never miss a beat. Your Hex gives you a boost at the end of the game, giving you a final opportunity to down any remaining survivors.

High-Pressure Wesker Build

By using this build, you'll be able to apply pressure consistently throughout the match and prevent survivors from completing generators with Tinkerer and Pop Goes The Weasel. Wesker's speed helps him traverse the map, while perks like Tinkerker help you negate your large Terror Radius and approach more sneakily.

  • Tinkerer (The Hillbilly)
  • Pop Goes The Weasel (The Clown)
  • Terminus (The Mastermind)
  • Superior Anatomy (The Mastermind)

Tinkerer both helps you know where to focus your efforts and allows you to sneak, while Pop Goes The Weasel does substantial damage to near-finished generators. Superior Anatomy gives you an even better chance of winning chases throughout the match. Terminus ensures that you can catch any survivors still left in the trial during the end-game, giving you the last chance to protect the exit gate and earn those final kills.

You can swap out Pop Goes The Weasel for other generator regression perks, like Merciless Storm, if you're interested in playing with different perks and switching up your approach slightly.
