Crisis or no crisis, life could get a little brighter for some of Russia's cash-strapped pensioners from now on, as one of Moscow's oldest strip joints is offering them discounts on shows and lap dances.

Elderly customers visiting the club between the hours of 9 p.m. and midnight will be offered a 30-percent discount on strip shows and private dances, the Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid cited club spokeswoman Viola Mirova as saying Thursday.

While the report did not name the club in question, a link on Mirova's VKontakte social networking page suggests it is the Bely Medved (White Bear) club on Moscow's Prospekt Mira.

Older ladies and gentlemen wishing to take advantage of the club's offer will first have to show proof that they are a pensioner, as well as a document from their cardiologist — just in case the excitement gets a little too much.

"We have such great girls and guys that the heart might not be able to cope with the overstimulation," Mirova told Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The club's management is not ruling out that their latest deal could attract a whole new demographic to the club.

"I wouldn't say that people older than 50 are regular visitors, but we don't have any age limit at our club. Let 60-year-olds and 70-year-olds come along. The main thing is that their health should allow it," Mirova said.
