Melissa Etheridge is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and musician (born May 29, 1961). Her 1988 self-titled debut album was a triumph among underground listeners.
The album’s debut hit, “Bring Me Some Water,” earned Etheridge her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female in 1989, and it peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200.
That same year, Etheridge released her second album, Brave and Crazy, which led to two additional Grammy nominations. With the release of her third album, Never Enough, in 1992, Etheridge received her first Grammy Award for the album’s first hit, “Ain’t It Heavy.”

The 53-year-old singer married Linda Wallem, her “true love” and fiancée of almost a year, on Saturday at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, according to People.
She lives in Hollywood, too. Wallem, who is 53 as well, is the executive producer and showrunner of the Showtime series “Nurse Jackie.” She has previously worked as a co-executive producer on “The Comeback,” as well as a writer for “Cybill” and “That ’70s Show.”
After more than ten years of friendship, Etheridge and Wallem, both 53, started dating in 2010.
They announced their engagement in June of last year, around the time the Supreme Court struck down many anti-gay rights laws, including California’s Prop 8. For both ladies, this is their first marriage that has been approved by the law.
